Drachten, 21 January 2026 – Kooi Trading B.V., specialist in mobile temporary video surveillance, acquires Addsecure Smart Surveillance GmbH, known as "Video Guard".

The merger of Video Guard with Kooi's existing German activities will create an organisation with an established position in the field of mobile temporary video surveillance. In Germany, the company will operate under the name Video Guard in future. With this step, Kooi is strengthening its position in a rapidly growing market and creating a scale that will enable further innovation, high service quality and even greater customer focus.

European strength, German focus

Kooi is a fast-growing European specialist in mobile temporary video surveillance, headquartered in Drachten, the Netherlands. Kooi's solutions are used to secure construction sites, industrial areas, logistics sites and, in particular, wind and solar parks. Specialised early fire detection solutions are also used in industrial, waste and recycling facilities.

With more than 300+ employees, Kooi is active in 25 European countries. The company has been operating in Germany since 2015 and currently employs around 70 people.

Video Guard, headquartered in Hesel and with around 100 employees, has been an established provider of KRITIS-compliant security solutions for many years, particularly for the construction and infrastructure industries, and has in-depth expertise in the renewables sector. Its focus on German security technology and the highest level of service in the industry has made Video Guard one of the fastest-growing and most customer-centric companies.

Together with Kooi, Video Guard will have more than 5,000 active mobile surveillance systems in Germany in the future and will continue to expand its service network for the benefit of its customers.

Strategic move in a dynamically growing market

The acquisition comes against the backdrop of rapidly growing demand for flexible, technology-driven security solutions. Major investments in renewable energy and infrastructure projects – including the German investment programme worth more than €500 billion – are leading to a structural increase in security requirements at temporary and large-scale project sites.

The merger will allow Kooi and Video Guard to combine their strengths. The aim is to provide even better support to customers locally with scalable solutions, high operational reliability and further technological innovation. The joint sales and service network will set new standards in the industry.

Due to its strong reputation and high profile, the company will operate in Germany under the Video Guard brand name.
