Laying the Foundations 

When Jelle joined Kooi, his first priority was to establish a network of meaningful connections. "The first six months were all about making lots of contacts with new clients, working hard on my network," Jelle reflects. His goal was to understand the key players in each country under his purview and build strong foundations for future collaborations.
This groundwork is now bearing fruit. Thanks to the trust and rapport Jelle has cultivated, projects are rolling in. "A phone call with an 800km distance doesn’t have the same impact as meeting face-to-face. Building a strong relationship in person is crucial," Jelle emphasises.

Living Kooi’s GRUTSK Values 

Jelle is deeply aligned with Kooi’s core values, especially the “G” for goal-oriented. His ambitions include setting up a Kooi office in Romania within the next two years. "It would be super cool to contribute to that, train sales managers there, and remain financially involved," he says with excitement.

As Kooi evolves from a Frisian company to an international one, Jelle is eager to contribute to its growth. "I’m proud to work at Kooi and to see the results we’re achieving as Team International."

Sales Across Borders

Jelle’s role is as diverse as the markets he serves. Whether in Drachten or on the road, his focus remains consistent: connecting with clients, understanding their needs, and delivering tailored solutions. "It’s very important to acquire new clients, but maintaining relationships with current clients is just as crucial," he explains. These relationships ensure continuity and trust, which are essential for long-term success.

Every market, from the UK to Eastern Europe, brings unique challenges. For instance, the higher crime rate in the UK requires more robust security measures, while Eastern Europe presents opportunities as a relatively untapped market for camera-based security solutions.

Tailor-Made Solutions: The Kooi Advantage

What sets Kooi apart is its bespoke approach. Jelle describes how they go beyond simply supplying cameras. "We look at what needs to be secured, make a plan, and ensure the solution fits perfectly. Sometimes, I visit the project site to ensure everything is tailored to the client’s needs."
