For Sarah, working in the back office is about much more than numbers and processes. As Back Office Manager for the Nordics, she plays a key role in keeping everything running smoothly behind the scenes while staying closely connected to the people and the business.
“Even though I work in the back office, I still feel very connected to what’s happening in the business,” Sarah explains. “You get a full overview from contracts and planning to financial processes and that makes the work really interesting.
In her role, Sarah is involved in a wide range of tasks. From supporting sales with contracts to working with project managers on planning and transportation, no day is the same.
“I work closely with different teams, like sales and project management,” she says. “I also support with financial processes and debtor management. It’s a mix of administrative work and really understanding what’s happening in the business.”
Her background in economics and finance helps her in this role, but according to Sarah, curiosity and willingness to learn are just as important. “You don’t need to know everything from the start. You learn a lot on the job.”
Before joining Kooi, Sarah worked in smaller companies, which shaped her way of working. “I like being involved and understanding the bigger picture,” she explains. “At Kooi, I can combine my experience in finance with a broader role in the business.”
She joined Kooi not long ago but immediately felt at home. “From my first interview, I had a really good feeling. The atmosphere felt right, and everyone was very welcoming.”
Although the Nordics team is relatively small, Sarah experiences a strong sense of connection. “It really feels like a small team where everyone helps each other,” she says. “If you don’t know something, there’s always someone willing to help.”
At the same time, she also feels part of the larger Kooi organization. “There’s a real ‘one big family’ feeling. Even across countries, people stay connected whether it’s through work or social activities.”

With the Nordics region continuing to grow, Sarah sees plenty of opportunities ahead. “The team is expanding, and that makes it exciting. We’re building something together.”
She appreciates the balance between independence and teamwork. “You have your own responsibilities, but you’re never on your own. That combination makes the job really enjoyable.
Beyond her work, Sarah values the social side of Kooi. From team moments to company events, the culture plays a big role in her experience.
“It’s not just about work,” she says. “The people make a big difference. Having supportive colleagues and a positive atmosphere makes you enjoy your job even more.”
Sarah is still at the beginning of her journey at Kooi, but she’s excited about what’s to come. “I’m learning a lot and growing in my role. I’m looking forward to developing further and continuing to support the team.”
