Due to the global COVID-19 pandemic, many people felt a growing need for personal development. Naturally, this is also a high priority at Kooi. Personal development leads to increased self-confidence. Thus, Carlo Roffel advanced from centralist to project manager. "For our customers, I am the spider in the web."

Since 2017, Carlo has been part of the Kooi team. He started in the Kooi Alarm Center as a centralist. “Working in the control room means working at the heart of the company,” he begins. “Our camera system is primarily placed on-site as a preventive measure, but catching someone in the act really gives a thrill!”



A More Flexible Role

Over time, another role caught his interest. Carlo explains: “I had accompanied project managers before to get a behind-the-scenes look at my colleagues’ work. I really liked the flexibility of the role and the intensive customer interaction to provide the best possible service. When the position became available, I seized the opportunity. What I appreciated most was that my former manager encouraged and supported me in making a smooth transition. That’s not always the case elsewhere.”

Personal approach

As a centralist, Carlo gained valuable insights into how thieves and vandals operate. Now, as project manager for construction and infrastructure in the Benelux, he applies this knowledge to optimally position cameras on-site. He works closely with planning, logistics, service, support, and the Alarm Center while assisting customers with their security needs. “I enjoy visiting clients personally, getting to know them, and conducting a security check on-site.”

Thieves

Carlo has now fully settled into his new role. “Recently, a company contacted us after a theft had occurred. They wanted cameras on-site as soon as possible to prevent it from happening again. The next day, we had them installed. Sure enough, the thieves returned but fled as soon as our UFOs triggered the alarm. They haven’t been back since. The customer was incredibly happy and relieved.”

In his new role and with great enthusiasm, Carlo now gets to experience Kooi’s rapid growth from the inside. “It’s truly typical of Kooi that you are encouraged to see and seize development opportunities.”
