Since September 2024, Linda has been working at Kooi as an HR Officer for the Benelux and the Alarm Centre. What started as a part‑time internship has grown into a permanent position within the company. She has now graduated and works four days a week in the HR team with great enthusiasm.
I’m Linda, 27 years old, and since January I’ve graduated with a bachelor’s degree in HRM from the Hanze University of Applied Sciences in Groningen. “For my part‑time studies, I needed a workplace, and that’s how I came across the vacancy for an HR intern. My sister had previously done an internship in the marketing department and was always very positive about Kooi. That made me even more curious.”
That curiosity was quickly confirmed. The first interview felt right immediately, and everything moved fast from there. I’ve now been working here for a year and a half with a lot of joy.
Applying theory directly in practice
Combining work and study was ideal. Everything I learned at school, I could apply directly in practice, which made it incredibly valuable. Now that I’ve graduated, I work here as an HR Officer.
“What I do at Kooi aligns perfectly with what I was looking for in HR.”
I’m involved in a lot of administrative support, such as drafting contracts, study cost agreements, and employer statements. I also review CVs daily, invite candidates for interviews, or inform them when they are not moving forward in the process. In addition, I conduct job interviews together with managers.

More than administration
Although administration is an important part of her job, her heart lies in connecting with people. “I truly get energy from conversations with employees. Sitting down together, asking how they’re doing, or discussing what they’re struggling with — I find that meaningful.”
The combination of administrative, social, and project‑based work is what makes her role so enjoyable.
A young and ambitious team
“What makes Kooi special to me are the people.”
It’s a young and ambitious team. Everyone wants to move forward, and we celebrate successes together. This creates a strong sense of connection.
According to Linda, Kooi is an organisation where you can grow. “You’re given a lot of freedom and responsibility. You’re encouraged to contribute ideas and help build processes. That makes it different from other companies I’ve worked for.”
Outside of work
Outside of work, Linda lives with her boyfriend in Drachten and leads an active life. She practices B‑Kick, strength training, and is a big speed‑skating enthusiast. She even attended the recent Olympic Games in Milan. She also enjoys winter sports, walking in the forest, and spending time with friends. Sitting still is definitely not her thing.
A tip for future colleagues
Finally, Linda has a clear message for job seekers: “Stay true to yourself and do what makes you happy. At Kooi, everyone is ready to help you, and you’re given plenty of room to learn and develop yourself.”
